About Leandro Trossard
During his childhood, Leandro Trossard (4.12.1994) played at a few local football teams. In 2010, at the age of 16, he took the next step when he joined football club Racing Genk. Two years later he made his debut with the first team during a match against AA Gent. After this, he was lent out for a few seasons to clubs in second-class such as Lommel United and Westerlo where he immediately stood out.
During the season of 2014-2015, Leandro played at top level at club Oud Heverlee Leuven. When he returned to Belgian top club Racing Genk in 2015-2016, it wasn’t long before he made an impression with his actions, his gameplay and his insight into the game. Last season he even scored 22 goals in 47 games.
Leandro was selected by national coach Roberto Martinez to joint the Belgian Red Devils, but the ultimate highlight for Trossard was undoubtedly winning the title last season with Racing Genk. It was a dream come true since Leandro has been a strong supporter of the team since he was a young football player.
In the meantime there was a lot of interest from foreign clubs to obtain Trossard for their football teams. At the end of June 2019 Leandro signed a contract with Brighton & Hove Albion and will play in the English competition until atleast 30.06.2023.
